Intelligent Lighting: ADB Headlights

ADB headlights are a typical representative of intelligent lighting. They use a matrix LED design, which independently controls the lighting intensity and range of each LED bulb, achieving precise adaptation to road conditions and accurate lighting. This effectively improves driving safety and the smart driving experience, and they have become a new type of headlights in recent years.

Currently, ADB headlights have become a mainstream configuration for mid to high-end models, with a penetration rate of over 10%, and this trend is continuously rising. They possess a huge market potential and development prospects. With increasing competition in the automotive market and declining profitability of conventional vehicle LED, high value-added ADB headlights have become a new track for many vehicle LED exhibitors to compete in.

To balance performance and cost, ADB headlights come in various pixel types, covering 16 pixels, 24 pixels, 32 pixels, 84 pixels, and hundreds of pixels, ranging from a few dozen to over a hundred pixels. With the introduction of Mini/Micro LED technology, the number of pixels in ADB headlights is increasing significantly, allowing for both zoning lighting functions and certain graphical display capabilities. As the boundaries between lighting and display become increasingly blurred, automotive LED lighting offers more possibilities.

Human-vehicle Interaction: Projection Headlights

Interactive vehicle lights achieve real-time interaction between the vehicle and the external environment through changes and combinations of lights. This technology not only improves the vehicle's recognizability but also enhances the exchange of information between the driver and pedestrians, as well as other vehicles. For example, some models indicate the turning direction through light changes when making a turn, effectively reducing traffic accidents caused by blind spots.

Currently, interactive vehicle lights have two solutions, direct display and projection headlights display. In the former, array RGB LED and Mini LED are common solutions. Meanwhile, with the size reduction of light sources and enhancements in pixel density, interactive vehicle lights can display more complex and detailed graphics, text, or animation effects.

Projection headlights mainly include Micro LED, DLP, and laser projection solutions.

Personalized Ambient Lighting

As an important part of shaping automotive aesthetics, personalized ambient lighting has been increasingly favored by consumers in recent years. Ambient lighting mainly uses single-color LED and RGB LED solutions. By changing the color, brightness, and distribution of car lights, it creates a unique interior atmosphere, providing a more comfortable and personalized environment for drivers and passengers.

Driven by the demand for automotive personalization, diverse interior lighting configurations have become one of the focal points for car manufacturers to build differentiated competitive advantages. Statistics show that new energy vehicles require an average of 400 LED bulbs for interior ambient lighting. The huge demand in the downstream market also opens up new growth opportunities for automotive LED manufacturers.
